FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What are the terms and conditions of your cottage rental?

    Read all the terms and conditions of our Cottage Rental Contract.

  • When can we check-in?

    From 4 p.m., with the exception of the chalet l'Etincelle where arrival is at 5 p.m.

    * Between June 23rd and September 6th: The check-in time for cottages with a capacity of 14 people or more is from 5 p.m.

    You can arrive earlier to take full advantage of the outdoor activities if you wish. However, the key to the chalet will be given to you at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Chalet Étincelle. Departure is scheduled for 12 noon.

  • What are the terms of payment for a cottage rental?

    The terms of payment for a cottage rental are as follows:

    • 50% of the total rental amount upon booking
    • Balance due on check-in day

    A security deposit between $750 and $2000 is required at check-in on a credit card. (The amount varies according to the cottage.)

  • What is the minimum age to rent a cottage?

    You must be 21 years or older to rent a cottage.

    At least 1 adult aged 21 years old and over must be on site at all times during the stay.

  • Are your cottages non-smoking?

    Yes, it is strictly forbidden to smoke in the cottages. A fine will be charged if this is not respected.

  • Do we need to bring our bedding / towels / dishes / toilet paper/ life jacket?

    No. Our cottages are fully equipped. You only need to bring your groceries and your personal belongings. One bath towel and a face cloth are supplied per person for the stay. Please note that a majority of our cottages have a dishwasher. However, only a few of them have a washer-dryer. Laundry detergent is not included. * Au Chalet en Bois Rond is not responsible for breakage or damage that may be caused to clothing or other items.

  • Can we bring our pet?

    Dogs are accepted in certain cottages. Maximum 2 dogs per stay.
    Extra fees for housekeeping will be applied.
    Fees are of 20$ + taxes per night per animal.
    Cats are not accepted in our cottages.

    We are located in the beautiful region of Porneuf, about 45 minutes from Quebec City, 1 hour from Trois-Rivières, and about 2:30 hours from Montreal.

  • How do we get to your village?

    From Montreal:

    Take Highway 40 East and take the exit 254 – St-Marc-des-Carrières.

    Turn right on Route Dussault.

    Turn right on Bourque Street, and left on Principale Avenue.

    Turn right on Route 354.

    Turn left at the next flashing light in Ste-Christine d’Auvergne, on Route des Cascades.

    Follow rang Saint-Jacques until our office. It will be on your right.

    From Quebec City:

    Take Highway 40 West and take exit 295 – Sainte-Catherine de la Jacques-Cartier.

    Continue on route 367 towards St-Raymond.

    Turn left onto St-Joseph street.

    Turn right onto St-Jacques Avenue.

    Follow route 367 for 5.5 km.

    Turn left on Rang-St-Jacques.

    Continue on Rang St-Jacques and our reception office will be on your left.

  • Is there internet access or cellphone reception onsite?

    All our cottages offer free wifi access.

    You can also come by the reception office to connect to our internet wifi network.

    Cellphones do not have great reception in our village. However, every cottage has its own private phone. You can therefore receive phone calls and make local phone calls free of charge.

  • We are a group, can we stay in your village?

    Yes, of course! While respecting the government measures in force for the dates of your stay.Whether it is for a group of friends, family, or corporate group. Alike families and couples, groups must respect the village’s rules with respect to noise, security, and neighborhood.

  • Is there a restaurant in the village?

    We offer a catering service. Whether it is for a cocktail, a picnic, or a 5-course meal with the chef, different options are offered. Moreover, if you are a group, you can book our vast reception hall for a 3, 4 or 5-course meal, a buffet, whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Booking is required in advance.

  • Is there a convenience store neardy?

    Yes. Directly at the reception office, you will find a convenience store and a gift shop. You can buy milk, bread, butter, juice, water, marshmallows, sausages, and much more! (Quantities are limited.)

    We also offer a variety of exclusive Au Chalet en Bois Rond products… A must-see: our own beer La Bois Rond, brewed at the Roquemont microbrewery in St-Raymond.

  • Do we need to bring outdoor chairs?

    Most cottages are equipped with enough outdoor chairs to accommodate the maximum capacity of the cottage. However, as a precaution, we suggest that you bring some additional camping chairs in order to insure everyone’s comfort and to enjoy the firecamp!

  • Can we swim in the lakes?

    Yes, swimming is authorized, but it is without surveillance.

  • Do your cottages offer boats?

    Some cottages have their own boat, going from pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, and rowboats. For chalets that do not have one, it is possible to rent them by the hour or by the day, on Lac des Loutres. You can come to our reception to make these boat rentals.

  • Can we fish onsite?

    Yes! Two options are offered:

    1. On the Lac des Loutres, in the designated fishing area: family fishing right, sold at the reception office

    2. On the Sainte-Anne river: provincial fishing license mandatory, sold in participating shops (Pro-Nature, Canadian Tire, etc.)

  • Is there a BBQ at the cottage?

    Yes. Moreover, cooking utensils and propane are supplied for the duration of your stay.

  • Are firewood and kindling included?

    We offer a pack of firewood, along with a pack of kindling upon your arrival. If you need more during your stay, it is possible to buy some at the reception office ($).
