Denis Côté, a well known, popular musician joined the team at Au Chalet en Bois Rond to inaugurate the Salle Denis Côté.
Singer and storyteller beyond compare, for nearly 25 years, Côté has been filling halls throughout the province and at Festivals in America. Born in the county of Portneuf in 1950, the musician became well known in 1975 thanks to the show ‘À la Canadienne’ , animated by André Lejeune, where for three years, he made his accordion sing. It didn’t take long before he was noticed by experts in folklore, and was invited to participate in the opening show of the Olympic Games in 1976, representing Canada for the International games. He returned from Europe with the prestigious Grand Prix from the l’Académie Charles-Cros, an honour bestowed upon a chosen few quebecois, another being Gilles Villeneuve. He also accompanied the virtuoso T-Jean Carignan before hosting the television show Monsieur Pointu, S’il-vous-plaît, and the well known Soirée Canadienne animated by Louis Bilodeau on TVA. Still very active in the world of traditional music, he has an active following of fans. His fans all agree. `If Denis is there, there is sure to be a party.’ In keeping with his reputation, he plays the Messervier ( an accordion with one row) and the Homer ( three rows) offering his public tunes which have earned him his much deserved reputation. Contemporary walse, from the masters of the accordion, Alfred Montmarquette and Gerald Lajoie, wonderful country tunes, popularized by Denis Champoux and Macel Martel, polkas, cajun, and the songs of our grandparents. In short, everything you need to get the party started.
The staff at Au Chalet en Bois Rond, is proud to offer the Salle Denis Côté with a capacity of 125 for all occasions such as:
Shows, dinners, dances, themed evenings, corporate events, family reunions, weddings, parties, etc.
All lovers of the accordion will enjoy Denis Cote, one of the great pillars of traditional quebecois music.

Guy Dussault will be performing on Saturday September 6, 2008.
Singer, performer, multi-talented musician, comedian, sound and lighting technician, Guy Dussault, has evolved in the world of music for over 20 years.
Born into a family where music was more and more present, he was predestined at a very young age toward a musical career. Guy studied the piano and drums but it was as a chorus singer that he began on the stage with a group that presented musical comedies.
As well, it was with his first instrument, the drums, that Guy joined a group who played mainly for weddings. He then traded his drums for a guitar and the piano, formed a duo and radically changed his repertoire… and his public. He then played in nightclubs and festivals, the school of the trade.
After having lent his voice in studio, as a solo artist and as part of a group, Guy participates in many different avenues of artistic expression which takes him from musical comedies to musical theatre and concerts throughout Quebec and Ontario. He has also hosted on the radio.
His numerous talents have allowed him to experience many avenues of music, and today he knows where he has been and where he is going.
Today, you will experience a charming performer who will present the classic Crooners, such as Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Harry Connick Jr. Michael Bublé and Charles Aznavour, to name just a few. In a magic moment, you will be charmed by his presence and talent.
Accompanied by Jean-François Lambert on the piano, Guy Dussault will help you discover, or rediscover songs that will move you.
